Faithful Friend That is Dearly Missed
Radar at 17 Years

Breed: DachshundGender: Female
Favorite Food: Starting her life off with Flint River Ranch was everything. She has had nothing but Flint River Ranch since we brought her home.
Favorite Activities: She is an avid ball player, and her favorite person is my father-in-law. Our yards are connected and she spends her evenings in his easy chair sitting in Grandpa's lap. Her favorite toys are tennis balls after she pulls all the fuzz off.
Story: She is the "daughter" of my best friend's dogs. Her brother still lives with her parents in Bakersfield, Ca.
All the dogs are slender and healthy, as I measure their food out. And they have a huge yard to play in. In Dachshunds and Corgis, it is very important that they not get overweight because of the extra strain on their backs.
All five dogs get along beautifully and they are a challenge to keep up with. What they eat is important to me. It needs to be nutritious, affordable, and easy. Thanks AGAIN Flint River for filling all three of those needs.

Breed: DachshundGender: Female
Favorite Place to Sleep: She is mom's baby, sleeps with me, and follows me everywhere I go.
Story: Zoe is a pound puppy. I used to go to the OC animal shelter to see if there were any Dachshunds that needed to be picked up and taken to the local rescue organization. I fell in love with her and just had to keep her.

Breed: Welsh Corgi (Pembroke)Gender: Male
Favorite Activities: His major talent at his age is jumping through the doggy door.
Favorite Place to Sleep: Snoozing in my daughter's chair. He snores REALLY loudly.
Special Skills or Responsibilities: His talents included herding small children, pushing a ball around the entire edge of our yard, stopping with it right at my feet, leaving large chunks of hair wherever he went, and even playing Volleyball! He could hit the ball off the top of his head when I would hit it straight into the air. Once he hit it off the top of his head 3 times off the back wall. He did all these things without any training at all! As far as obedience training, he was the star of his class.
Story: Our long time family member, Radar, passed away October 16, 2008 at the age of 17 and half years old. We got him when he was just under a year old from a Corgi rescue organization in Southern California. Towards the end of his life his talents were more simple as he was both blind and deaf. Finding his way back into the house when we put him out back and finding the drinking water in the kitchen. His last meal was, you guessed it, FlintRiver Ranch with a drizzle of bacon drippings as a special treat. So long, sweet Radar, you faithful love and sparkling personality will never be forgotten.

Breed: DachshundGender: Male
Special Skills or Responsibilities: His only crime: he knows how to open the sliding drawer in our kitchen where the trash can is, and take the bag out. We have had to install baby latches.
Story: We got him when he was about 5 months old. My daughter saw him at a feed store and BEGGED to bring him home. They were asking $100 for him. He looked like The Simpson's dog, Santa's Little Helper, and I said "only an idiot would pay $100 for that dog." I did, and have never regretted it. He is the sweetest, smartest dog you ever saw and was a breeze to train. Rookie passed away on September 29, 2009.
