Story: Schubert was raised in Burma by a U.S. Foreign Service family, where he had the run of the American Embassy compound. The Burmese were a little afraid of him because he is big for a cat. They thought he was a baby lion. I adopted Schubert after he was on home leave in Arlington, and his family was posted to Bangkok where they would have only a small apartment. Schubert decided he'd prefer to stay with me in Arlington, Virginia, and he has been with me four years now.
Schubert passed away of a rare blood disease in September 2007. I miss my blue-eyed boy.
