Cyrano at 11 Years

Ophelia at 8 Years

Breed: GreyhoundWeight: 73 pounds
Gender: Male
Favorite Place to Sleep: All five of my animals sleep with me!
Special Skills or Responsibilities: Cyrano is a therapy dog and works primarily with hospice patients. This is a job he really likes, as do the many lives he touches!
Story: Cyrano was born in Colorado but was brought to New York State to run the racetracks in the northeast – lucky for me and him! I rescued Cyrano from certain death 8½ years ago once his career was over. He came into my home (with four cats) and at first it was like having a foster child – he had never seen a staircase, a toilet, a television or a bed; he had never been touched or hugged or kissed out of love; he had horrible dreams; and he had no idea what it meant to play just for fun. Well, believe me, he does now, and he even has happy dreams (I can tell because he wags his tail like crazy and makes happy little doggy noises).

Breed: Domestic Shorthair CatGender: Male
Story: Ophelia is also a rescue and is my Naughty-Nellie kitty. I always say it’s a good thing I love her because she is always in trouble! But she is also utterly adorable and fun. She has one blue eye and one green eye, and would win hands down any contest for the cat who talks the most – she is a non-stop talker! I have never seen any cat like that before.
