Breed: GreyhoundWeight: 80 pounds
Gender: Male
Favorite Food: I’m a vegan, so his favorite foods (other than Flint River Ranch) are cheese and meat—which he only gets when we visit his grandparents' home.
Favorite Activities: When he arrived, he had no idea how to play. Now I can’t keep the squeaky toys out of his mouth. He collects them all, piles them on his favorite bed, and then lies on top (sometimes he also adds a shoe or two of mine)! His favorite thing to do is pull the bottoms out of the beds I have for Gizmo, and then carry them around the house with ears up and a proud Greyhound prance.
Favorite Place to Sleep: He’s a true 40 MPH couch potato. His favorite place to sleep is wherever my feet are trying to be.
Story: "Nefer" means "handsome" in Egyptian (since they are Egyptian by heritage). He’s a retired racer. His racing name was Blazing Inferno. I adore this dog! Everything they say about Greyhounds is true—sweet, gentle, loving, grateful, adorable! If anyone wants to adopt a dog in need, give a wonderful Greyhound a chance. You won’t be disappointed.

Breed: Papillon/German Shepherd Dog/Border CollieWeight: 13 pounds
Gender: Female
Favorite Food: Her favorite food? Ah, not much of a foodie, really. She’s the only dog I know who’s not really into food. She just eats enough to get by.
Favorite Activities: Her favorite thing to do is follow her nose, camp, canoe, swim, and look cute!
Story: I rescued Gizmo from the Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago when she was about three months old. I picked her because she was the most forlorn-looking pup there. Amazing what a little TLC and good food can do. I’ve lost count of the people who have stopped us during a walk and said she should be in movies! Gizmo is the love of my life. She still looks like a puppy. People think she’s 13 months when I say she’s 13. That’s music to my ears because she needs to live forever.

Breed: Domestic Shorthair CatWeight: 6 pounds
Gender: Female
Favorite Activities: She’s the friendliest cat you’ll ever meet. She’ll jump on anyone’s shoulders and stay put as long as you’ll let her.
Story: Nalla is a grey cutie who was also rescued from Anti-Cruelty in Chicago. I’ve never seen her afraid of anything. She’s the smallest of my crew, but absolutely in charge of us all. I wish I had her spunk! Everyone loves Nalla.

Breed: Domestic Shorthair CatWeight: 9 pounds
Gender: Male
Story: Oli, also known as Mr. Man, came from Anti-Cruelty, too. He was 9 or 10 when his family gave him up. Unbelievable! Oli (previously Jimmy) is the cuddliest cat I’ve ever met. If I am seated, he is on my lap. He’s also quite a talker and always has something interesting to say. I can’t imagine how anyone could give him up or why he sat in the shelter for months and months. People thought he was too old, I guess. Adopting older animals is great! This guy has many good years left (he’s already given me four). He doesn’t destroy things and he’s so grateful. Consider an older kid for adoption!
