"It's my 1st birthday, and I will 'sit up' for any and all treats you want to give me!"
Evie at 1 Year

"I'm beautiful, lovable, and am always ready to protect my Mom!"
Emiko at 1 Year

Breed: Cocker Spaniel (American)/Poodle MixWeight: 28 pounds
Gender: FemaleBirthday: June 17, 2001
Favorite Activities: Evie, my "little" girl, is assertive animal alpha/people submissive, loves to play hard, sing duets with her house sister, Emiko, and loves to try to tell me what to do and when to do it!
Favorite Place to Sleep: She sleeps in her crate.
Special Skills or Responsibilities: She is a super social butterfly. Her biggest responsibility is to love me unconditionally—a task she fully embraces!
Story: The "mix" is because her mother was a Cock-a-Poo that was a rescue from the wild. I was present at her birthing. I'm glad I was because she required gentle chest compressions to loosen thick mucus in her throat, allowing her to breathe. I looked up and said, "She's mine!"

She was training to be a therapy dog, but we had to stop because after her older house sister, Midnite Shadeau, died, she recommenced her submissive puddling and it never stopped.

The picture is one of her on her first birthday. She looks the same now as she did then.

Breed: Doberman Pinscher/VizslaWeight: 72 pounds
Gender: FemaleBirthday: December 13, 2002
Favorite Activities: Emiko, my "big" girl, loves to run full tilt, and have choir practice with her house sister, Evie.
Favorite Place to Sleep: She sleeps in her crate (even though her favorite place would be on my couch).
Special Skills or Responsibilities: She has made it her special task to be my protector and will walk closely beside me, even in the back yard, to protect me from the squirrels and birds.
Story: She was born in Iowa where my daughter rescued her from a shelter in Davenport. She had a rough go with an infection after she was spayed at 6-7 weeks of age. This has left her with a delicate digestive tract. She moved several times before I took her as my own girl, so is a bit neurotic with some separation anxiety.

Emiko is an excited digger, so when she sees the neighbors' dogs, I have to keep her on the concrete to keep her from propelling my grass into the other neighbor's lawn!
