Peyton at 9 Years

Mila at 4 Years

Breed: Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler MixGender: Male
Story: Peyton traveled to us all the way from NC, because otherwise his mother’s owner’s would have “disposed” of him. He is always happy, even when someone drove a car in the driveway over him (driver’s fault!). He was a puppy then, and had to go through excruciating pain, as he was still growing–with a metal pin in his hip.

All I have to say: I got lucky to find an emergency vet that could care less about me. All he cared about was Peyton. Holding true to my belief that everybody deserves the chance to live, we went along with the operation. He still has all his legs; although, on rainy days, three are all he uses. My hero Peyton: He may be nine, but he still thinks–and acts–as if he was a puppy!

Breed: Domestic Shorthair CatGender: Female
Story: The first two years of her life, she was so tiny, that she would not leave the house. When I brought her for the first time to the Vet, the lady told me to do the humane thing and put her down. I would not give up. I gave her medication for the least time possible. Well next thing you know, she turned into a little powerhouse, and still is.
