Mitsu (Left), Kobe, Luna (in Back, by Window), and Lucifer

Left-to-right: Mitsu, Angel at 4 Months, Kobe at 11 Years

Breed: AkitaWeight: 100 pounds
Birthday: April 7, 1996
Favorite Food: Kobe has food allergies (wheat and corn) so the canines all get the lamb/millet/rice formula.
Special Skills or Responsibilities: Kobe, like most Akita's, is extremely family loyal and even protects the cats from other dogs. She is sometimes overprotective of his pack (that included me and Angel).
Story: I got him at the ripe old age of 4 months. He and Lucifer became fast friends and play together doing mock battles. It's a hoot to watch them.
As you can see in the picture, they all sleep in the bed with me at night. The cats and I have one side and Mitsu and Kobe have the other. It's very cozy in the winter.

Breed: AkitaWeight: 66 pounds
Story: Mitsu was a rescue from the Friends of the Fairmont Animal Center in San Leandro, CA (an organization I support with annual donations). She is so sweet, we named her Mitsu, because that is the Japanese word for honey. She was almost morbidly obese when I got her but now with good Flint River Ranch food and lots of exercise, she is trim and healthy.

Breed: Domestic Shorthair Cat
Story: Luna was feral and about 4-5 months old when she appeared on my back porch. I started putting food out for her. After about 2 months I trapped her and brought her inside, where she resides in comfort just like she has been here from day one.

Breed: Domestic Shorthair CatBirthday: March 15, 1993
Story: Lucifer is the oldest, born on the Ides of March, 1993, in the tool room where I worked. His mother was feral, solid white, and would not let anyone get within 10 feet of her until it was time to have the kittens, then she came in the warehouse begging for a warm and comfortable place to give birth. We locked her in the tool room with plenty of food, water, and a litter box, and she became quite friendly. The kittens were born about 3 days later and obviously each one had a different father - no two were alike.

Breed: Domestic Shorthair CatWeight: 18 pounds
