Feeding Notes
Puppies: As a general rule, feed your puppy 3 times a day, and allow them to eat for 10 minutes at each feeding.
Reproduction: Provide increasing amounts of food the latter half of pregnancy. The amount may be twice the normal food intake. Feed to consumption during nursing.
Feed less! Baked food is denser than other pet foods; you'll typically feed 25% less. If your dog has loose stool, you may be overfeeding. Please refer to the feeding guidelines, and try feeding slightly less.
The Feeding Guideline above is a starting point. Please adjust the feeding amount as necessary to maintain the optimum body weight for your dog. We recommend that you weigh your dog weekly.
New to this food? Please transition your pet. Some dogs may do better by making a gradual transition over 7 to 10 days. Start with 25% of the new food mixed with 75% of the previous diet, and gradually increase the new while decreasing the previous until the transition is complete. Sudden diet change may cause loose stool or stomach discomfort. Typically, a gradual transition is not necessary when changing to another Pinto Canyon food because all of our foods are similar in quality and the cooking process.
Clean water bowls daily. Have clean bowls of cool, fresh water available at all times.
Store your food in a cool and dry location.
Pinto Canyon Oven-Baked Grain-Free Recipe With Sweet Potato & Salmon is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages, including growth of large size dogs (70 lbs. or more as an adult).
